INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF SLED DOG SPORT

Founded in 1989 as the logical result of the world development of dog sledding and ski pulka, the IFSS is responsible for establishing the racing regulations and their evolution, for managing the sport on aninternational level, for organizing biannual world championships and relationships with the International Olympic Committee since it is already a member of the General Association of International Sporting Federations.

The IFSS brings together 45 national federations on five continents (there are competitions in South Africa) and publishes a report every four years that provides information about the growth and evolution of this sport that effects some 100,000 dogteams throughout the world.
